Our Story
We're a family of makers in East Tennessee. Everybody here makes something.
Midgard Artistry started about six years ago as a hobby/PTSD craft that was supposed to wait for retirement. It didn't wait. One batch of soap turned into ten, ten turned into sixty-plus, and somewhere along the way the whole family picked up a craft.
Justin makes the soap, the shave soap, and the aftershave, and he's the one at the booth telling you about unicorn tracking. Patience rolls the beeswax candles, grows the roses that go into Patience's Dream, and is building out the apothecary side of the shop. Charlotte makes candles and jewelry, and she named Unicorn Poop. Sawyer runs the forge. Silas runs the 3D printer. Solomon builds the shields.
Rooted in the old ways
We come from Celtic and Norse pagan tradition. For us it isn't a theme or a costume. It's a living practice that's been handed down through our family for generations. That's why every soap has a story behind it, and why we work hard to get the mythology right. When a bar is named for a god, a giant, or a dragon, it's because the lore actually fits.
Real ingredients, honestly made
Nearly everything we sell is made by our own hands. When a soap says it has real mead, real beer, real coffee, real chai, real pine tar, or real honey, it does. Our mead comes from our friends at Savannah Bee Company. The few things we don't make ourselves, we pick carefully and tell you so.
No Nazis in Valhalla
Heathenry belongs to everyone who comes to it honestly. We have zero tolerance for racists, folkish ideology, or anyone trying to use our gods and symbols to push hate. If that's you, there's nothing for you here. Everyone else: welcome to the hall.
