Brigid keeps three fires.
In Irish tradition, Brigid is the goddess of the forge, of poetry, and of healing — the fire of the smith, the fire of inspiration, and the fire of the hearth. Her feast is Imbolc, at the start of February, when the cold is still heavy but the first signs of spring are starting to show. Her name gets attached to holy wells, to crosses woven from rushes, and to a sacred flame at Kildare that was said to be kept burning for centuries.
She is the goddess of coming back to life after a long winter.
Brigid's Bloom is a coconut sugar scrub — sweet, warm, and tropical, the scent of somewhere a long way from February. Sugar to polish and a smell that feels like the first warm day of the year.
Handmade in small batches by Midgard Artistry.
Scoop a small amount onto damp skin, massage in gentle circles, and rinse. Scrubs can make shower floors slippery — step carefully. Keep water out of the jar and use a dry scoop or dry fingers.
