The dragon did not give this up willingly.

Fafnir did not begin as a dragon. He began as a dwarf — son of Hreiðmarr, brother of Reginn — who looked at a pile of gold and decided that having it mattered more than anything else, including what he was. The transformation was not sudden. It never is. Greed that complete takes time to finish its work. By the end he was coiled around the Gnita Heath, vast and venomous, and the gold beneath him had absorbed everything he became.

Sigurd took the gold. But the blood is what the stories remember.

Dragon's blood resin is ancient in the way that things pulled from the earth over centuries earn the right to be called ancient — used in ritual, in medicine, in sacred spaces across cultures that never compared notes and arrived at the same conclusion anyway. It is dark and deep and resinous, with a warmth that has nothing to do with sweetness and everything to do with something older than sweetness. Put directly against the skin in oil form it does not perform. It simply arrives and stays.

The goat milk carries it — rich and nourishing, keeping the bar from becoming a statement when what you need is a bar that works. Together they clean, nourish, and leave something behind that does not entirely rinse away.
